The Erma L. Williams Learning Center is a faith-based school that focuses on early childhood development, the most critical years in shaping the life of a child into adulthood. The Center, which has been in operation since 1979, is committed to providing a quality education that incorporates a strong Christian foundation in a warm, family oriented atmosphere.

We here at the Erma L. Williams Learning Center believe in raising and educating children based on Biblical guidelines. Your child will have their mind, body and spirit trained and cultivated by teachers who are dedicated to this endeavor.

Just as importantly, your child will be educated at an accelerated rate. The average Erma L. Williams Learning Center K5 graduate:

  1. Can read at the first and second grade level, apply phonics concepts to both reading and spelling dictated words. And our advance readers are at the third grade level.
  2. Can write their name, letters, and numbers to 100 by ones, tens, fives and two.
  3. Can add and subtract number combination families 1-10, solve word problems, and compare: larger and smaller numbers.
  4. Have memorized fifty bible verses.
  5. Have developed good character traits including: courtesy, obedience, truthfulness, respect, good manners, and self-control; and have expectation of success.
  6. Know basic biblical character traits such as obedience, honesty, kindness, gentleness, etc.

Our Kindergarten graduates begin to read at four years old and continue reading in their kindergarten year. Intensive phonics helps them learn words more quickly and accurately; in turn, they read more fluently. Phonics as an essential method of learning how to both read, write and spell. In addition they are able to add and subtract number combination families 1-10. Our accelerated curriculum and Christian-based character development prepares them for first grade and beyond.

Our toddlers learn reading and math readiness skill and our four year old students begin to read and progress in math readiness. Our Kindergarten graduates have mastered the phonics and begin to read fluently; and are able to perform both addition and subtraction.
