Admission Process

Admission process begins once the enrollment application form is submitted.

All required documents should be submitted with the enrollment application along with the required payment and fees.

An open house will be held at the beginning of each year.

Open enrollment is held all year.

Your child must be two years old on or before July 1, three years old or four years old.

Your child must be five years old on or before July 1 of the school year for which you are applying for admission.

Forms are due upon enrollment. If not available at the time of enrollment, a grace period of 5 working days will be granted.

  • Birth Certificate (copy).
  • Vaccination (Immunization) Record. Ensure your child's vaccinations are up to date.
  • Medical Examination Report (completed by physician).

All Enrollment forms must be completed and signed by the parent or guardian.

Enrollment Forms

There is a $75 non-refundable registration fee that is charged for the first student in your family and $25 for each student. Please note that once a grade level is full we may offer a wait list.

Please note that once a grade level has reached it's enrollment capacity we may offer a wait list. When an opening becomes available, we will then extend an offer to the student on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students are required to wear uniforms.

Boys-- 
Solid color red uniform shirt with collar (short or long sleeves).
Solid color navy or tan uniform pants.

Girls-- 
Solid color red uniform shirt with collar (short or long sleeves).
Solid color navy uniform dress.
Solid color navy or tan uniform pants.

Shorts-- 
Can be worn anytime the weather permits.

All parents and students shall be properly attired when attending, coming or leaving the Erma L. Williams Learning Center. Parents and visitors are asked not to wear shorts or other revealing attire.

Students must wear the red Erma L. Williams Learning Center shirts on all field trips.

Extended Care

The daily lunch program provides nutritional lunches for all students.

Families are always welcome to send children to school with a packed lunch.

  • Please pack a well-balanced lunch excluding candy and other highly sugared foods.
  • All foods need to be sent to school ready for the child to eat ase we. Refrigerator maybe limited, so please send a frozen ice bottle with any items that need to be kept cold.
  • Do not include anything that has to be heated in your child’s lunch.
  • Please avoid sending glass containers or jars, as they are breakable. We suggest plastic containers that the children can easily open.
  • Be sure to label the lunch box and its contents with your child’s name.

The purpose of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is to enhance and support the student's educational experience, to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parental involvement and to improve the environment at Erma L. Williams Learning Center through volunteer and financial support.

All parents of current Erma L. Williams Learning Center students are members of the Parent Teacher Organization.

Parent Teacher Organization

There are moving lines for drop-off and pick-up. If you need to enter a building, please park in the parking lot. Parents and other drivers are cautioned to drive slowly and to exercise extreme caution when backing up or pulling out of the parking area. Pedestrians, as well as drivers, must exercise extreme care in the lot and at drop-off and pick-up areas.

Our regular business hours are from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Our regular teaching and Summer hours are from 7:15 am to 5:30 pm.

All full-time faculty members are available during regular teaching hours unless on an approved flexible schedule or vacation.

Two (2) days per year for teacher training (days will be announced)

In case of inclement weather forcing school to be closed, the school closing will be announced on the television stations:

  • KCTV (Channel 5)
  • ABC (Channel 9)
  • One Call Telephone System Network
  • WDAF (Channel 4)

Parents are invited to have lunch with their child on his/her special day.

If you desire to have a birthday celebration for your child at the school, please contact the school director.

  • Parents should make provisions for cake and/or ice cream for children and teachers of the Center (not just the child's class).
  • Contact the Director for total number of children and staff attending the Center.

The Graduation Exercise will be held during the last week of the school year.

From time to time there will be parent-teacher meetings to discuss the children's progress and to elicit parent concerns and ideas. Notices will be provided in advance of such meetings.

In accordance with Missouri law, the school staff is obligated under penalty of fine and/or jail term to immediately notify the Children’s Division of the Missouri Department of Social Services all:

  • reasonable suspicion that a child has been or may be subjected to abuse or neglect or
  • observation that child being subject to conditions or circumstances which would reasonably result in abuse or neglect or
  • observation that child being subject to conditions or circumstances which would reasonably result in abuse or neglect or
  • student reports of alleged sexual misconduct on the part of a teachers, principals, or other school officials; nurses or other health practitioners; social workers; or other persons with responsibility for the care of children.
